I guess I don't have to understand...

Even though we both had about 12 hours of sleep last night, Aaron continues to sleep. Just like he said in his blog that I was sleeping the day away, he is sleeping it away now. He just woke up and asked about food. Sleep+food=men!

Leaving Sifnos

Hello from Greece! Today we are leaving Sifnos and heading to another Greek Island, Milos. I feel like my vacation should be coming to an end, but I still have a whole week!!! We have all had a wonderful time and are excited about what is to come. We are doing a bunch of nothing today until we get ready to go into town to catch the ferry. Aaron is on his phone, Lorrie is reading Dracula and tanning, and I am blogging and journaling. Aaron and I both got sunburnt yesterday so we are in pain and are kinda not fun. I hope that we are better by the time we get to Milos. Hope you are enjoying the blog.

The Hoosier State

We're in Indiana!!! :)

Wisconsin

Wisconsin. Yes, our GPS told us that going through Wisconsin would be the fastest time in getting to Merrillville, IN. So, we drove until about midnight last night and have about 6 hours left today. Yesterday we saw and drove through Badlands National Park. We also saw a minuteman missile silo and visited Wall Drug Store in Wall, SD. Although we saw some beautiful things, I spent a lot of my time on the phone with British Airways yesterday fixing my flight out of London into Athens. Woosh! I'm excited to be at the Redfield's home and to see Aaron. I am even more excited about leaving for Greece tomorrow!!!! :D

Home of the B-1 Bomber

We are staying at Ellsworth AFB for the evening. We were all just sitting here and suddenly I heard jet noise. I immediately jumped up and ran to my parents' hotel room to grab my dad. We both ran outside and saw 2 B-1s taking off with full afterburners on. It was amazing! Then, my dad pointed out another one. We watched them all the way into the distance until they turned their afterburners off. It was so cool! Hopefully we can see some on the flightline or taking off before we head to the Badlands tomorrow. Right now, I am also trying to get everything worked out for my trip to Greece with Aaron and his mom...or should I say he is taking care of everything and I am just communicating and talking with him about everything. He's great! I know for a fact that everything will be fine and he will take care of me! :D Here's a picture of me from Mt. Rushmore today! Enjoy!
Wow! South Dakota has crappy cell service, especially in the Black Hills. After we got into Wyoming we encountered a horrible hail storm. The temperature dropped almost 15 degrees in just 5 minutes! After that we had rain all the way into South Dakota. Our dinner consisted of food from the only convenience store open in the entire town of Custer. On Wednesday we woke up to a world of fog. It was horrible. We got to see some of the "needles" on The Needles Road and went to Mt. Rushmore only to see the exhibit and to look off the Grand View Terrace at a wall of fog. Good thing our pass was good for the rest of the year. We continued on to Deadwood. By the time we got there, the sun started coming out! We ate dinner on Main Street at Saloon #10, where Wild Bill Hickock was murdered. It was delicious! I had some Kobe beef! As we traveled back to our hotel, we found out that our hotel was in the section of Main Street that was famous for brothel houses back in the day. Fun, fun! Today was way more successful! The sun was out and it was beautiful! We were able to see Mt. Rushmore, some prairie dogs, and buffalos. Now we are at Ellsworth AFB for the night!

Blurbs of the Beast

So, I was inspired to start a blog by this boy named Aaron...some of you may know him. Anyways, I just graduated from the United States Air Force Academy Prep School this morning and will be back in Colorado Springs on June 24 for basic training. My family and I are making our way across South Dakota. We haven't had a family vacation like this in a while, so it will be exciting! We are currently in Wyoming, just past Fort Laramie. It is raining, and because the land is so flat you can definitely see the lightening when it strikes! Yikes!!! By the way, here's the story behind the name of my blog. My sister, Natalie, calls me Beast. She has called me this for a long time. So, my blog will be Blurbs of the Beast! :)
